Over 2000 events took place under the SeaBritain 2005 umbrella all around the UK.

Major events of the Trafalgar Festival included:

  • The National Maritime Museum's highly-acclaimed Nelson and Napoleon exhibition
  • International Fleet Review in the Solent
  • International Festival of the Sea in Portsmouth
  • Emirates Thames Nelson Flotilla.

Added to these were all the celebrations and commemorations of the Trafalgar Weekend – from the poignant Royal events on HMS Victory to the traditional 'Trafalgar Dinners' held throughout the country.

Continuing vision

  • The Woodland Trust's Trafalgar Woods project – 33 new woods were planted across the UK, each one named after a ship in Nelson's fleet.
  • The success of the 'New Trafalgar Dispatch' prompted the Department of Transport to designate the route permanently as the Trafalgar Way
  • A second series of the BBC documentary Coast provided further insight into the British coastline

SeaBritain handed over to partner organization SeaVision UK, a national campaign promoting the opportunities offered by the maritime community.
