Congratulations to Peter Harrison, CBE
Congratulations to Peter Harrison who has been recognised in the 2010 Queen’s Birthday honours’ list, for charitable services through the Peter Harrison Foundation.
Credits for Royal Observatory redevelopment
The largest single donation for the redevelopment has been a £3 million pledge from the Peter Harrison Foundation 'Opportunities through Education' programme.
The new Time galleries at the Royal Observatory
The Time galleries are the first stage of the Time and Space Project. The galleries will explore our need for accurate timekeeping and the role it plays in our everyday lives.
The Time and Space Project
We are undertaking a spectacular redevelopment of the Royal Observatory to meet increasing numbers of visitors and their demands for stimulating and high-quality information about time and space.
More about the Time and Space Project
The redevelopment includes new galleries, expanded educational resources, a new planetarium, better access and improved visitor facilities to the Observatory.
Funding the Time and Space Project
The Museum warmly thanks all those who have given to the Time and Space Project. The £15million target was reached in November 2005 – more than a year before the new planetarium and galleries open.
