Credits for Royal Observatory redevelopment

Credits

The largest single donation for the redevelopment has been a £3 million pledge from the Peter Harrison Foundation 'Opportunities through Education' programme. This is the largest single donation made by a private individual to the NMM since that of the Museum's founder, Sir James Caird.

The National Maritime Museum is grateful to the Peter Harrison Foundation, and also thanks the following donors for their generous support of the development of the Royal Observatory, completed in 2007:

  • Heritage Lottery Fund
  • Department for Culture, Media and Sport
  • Lloyd's Register Educational Trust
  • The Garfield Weston Foundation
  • Science and Technology Facilities Council
  • Millennium Commission
  • The Wolfson Foundation
  • The Weller Settlement Fund
  • The Sir John Fisher Foundation
  • Accurist
  • The Basil Samuel Charitable Trust
  • Tessa and John Manser
  • National Physical Laboratory
  • The Mercers' Company
  • The Headley Trust
  • Mr John Asprey
  • The Lord Iliffe
  • Evans & Sutherland
  • The Tanlaw Foundation
  • The MacRobert Trust
  • The William Falconer Charitable Trust

And all those who contributed to the public appeal, too numerous to list here.
