All three sites are open daily, 10.00–17.00 (last admission 16.30)

Please note: The Sammy Ofer Wing will close at 17.00 on 10 May. This will include entrance to Royal River, the Museum Café, the Compass Lounge and Voyagers gallery.

Until 26 July the Sammy Ofer Wing will be open daily, 10.00–18.00 (last admission 17.30). The south site of the Royal Observatory (the Meridian Line, Flamsteed House and the Time Galleries) will be open daily, 10.00–18.00 (last admission 17.30), until 22 July.

Closures: all three sites are closed 24-26 December, close early on 31 December and open late on 1 January and the occasion of the London Marathon in April. Occasional unavoidable closures to parts of the site are posted in latest visitor information.

The Sammy Ofer Wing

The Sammy Ofer Wing is the biggest development in the Museum’s history. The new wing includes:

Voyagers: Britons and the Sea, a new permanent gallery with over 200 objects representing the extraordinary depth and range of the Museum’s collection. Voyagers also features the Wave, a 20-metre dynamic audio-visual installation along which over 300 images and films from the Museum’s vast archives unfold in a series of thematic visual journeys.

The Compass Lounge where you can explore our vast collection and enjoy free wifi in comfort.
