Extracted from the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, the stories of 37 men and women remembered for lives spent on, over, beside, and under the sea. Arranged around an interactive map of the British Isles.
Very interesting link. I read the Christian Salvesen and RMS Titanic stories although I wasn’t sure why Titanic appears on the map at Queenstown – The story is about Captain Smith. I would have thought the marker on the map should be on Hanley in the Potteries where Captain Smith grew up. Queenstown is just the last port of call.
