The Peter Harrison Planetarium and the South Building

View of Peter Harrison PlanetariumView of Peter Harrison Planetarium The Peter Harrison Planetarium is housed in a reversed truncated cone with geometry that reflects key astronomical concepts in its relation to space. It is equipped with one of the most advanced digital laser projectors in the world, and the only one of its kind in Europe giving startling clarity to the journey through space.

Planetarium showPlanetarium show Planetarium shows are available during your event, and are presented by qualified astronomers who are on hand to answer questions about the heavens.

The Foyer, adjoining the Planetarium is ideal for dinners from 15 to 110 guests. This contemporary space is equipped with an integrated sound system for background music and pin spot lighting for your dinner tables. Large bay windows open out onto a landscaped courtyard facing the illuminated South Building.

Alongside the Planetarium are the Astronomy Galleries housed in the refurbished and modernised late-Victorian South Building completed in 1899 by William Crisp. Originally the ‘New Physical Observatory’ for astronomical research at Greenwich, it has now been entirely reconfigured internally and houses three new interactive Weller Astronomy Galleries available for pre- dinner drinks receptions.
