To celebrate 20 years of UNESCO World Heritage Site status, we gave our visitors the chance to win a year of Royal Museums Greenwich.

This competition is now closed.

Twenty years ago in 1997, Maritime Greenwich was given World Heritage Site status and we are running a programme of special anniversary events throughout the year, including the spectacular illumination of our landmark buildings on World Heritage Day, Tuesday 18 April.

Maritime Greenwich was given the prestigious status due to its role in the progression of English artistic and scientific endeavour in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The culturally significant buildings reflect two centuries of Royal patronage and preserve the works of great architects, Inigo Jones and Christopher Wren.
