Pirates
Pirates have been a hazard at sea for centuries, from the Phoenicians and Vikings who regarded piracy as normal practice to the 'Golden Age' of piracy, 1650–1720, when thousands of pirates were active around the West Indies and South America. In some parts of the world, especially the South China Seas, piracy still exists today.
