It has been many years since the story of HMS Implacable first appeared in print. Originally a French ship, the Duguay Trouin, she served at the Battle of Trafalgar where she was captured by the British navy and re-named Implacable.
This new history is fully illustrated with the original ship's plans and many historic photographs from the Museum's collections, as well as modern photographs showing conservation of the figurehead and stern now displayed at the National Maritime Museum.
Published in association with Hempel's Marine Paints
