Ahoy closure

Bringing the kids? As we build our exciting new Exploration Wing, the Ahoy! children’s gallery may close at short notice daily, before shutting from 18 April to 27 June. Our popular kids' attraction the Great Map remains open throughout, and there's lots for kids to see and do at Cutty Sark

Cloakrooms & baggage check at our museums

A cloakroom is provided on the ground floor of the National Maritime Museum. 

This facility is located to the right of the ticket desk in the Sammy Ofer wing facing Greenwich Park. Visitors can leave coats, suitcases, rucksacks and bags and there is a fee of £1 per item.

There are no cloakroom facilities at the Royal Observatory or Cutty Sark.

Family membership

Royal Museums Greenwich Members get free entry to all our ticketed areas and exhibitions as well as to Peter Harrison Planetarium shows, plus discounts in our shops and cafés.

All floors of the National Maritime Museum have lift access.

Family facilities at our museums

Royal Observatory, Peter Harrison Planetarium, Cutty Sark, National Maritime Museum and the Queen’s House welcome visitors of all ages, and offer plenty of activities for children, many of them free.

All the toilet and baby change facilities at our museums are wheelchair accessible.

Under-5s get free admission to special exhibitions at the National Maritime Museum.

Toilets and baby change at the National Maritime Museum

Toilets, baby change facilities and an accessible toilet are located opposite the ticket desk on the ground floor at the Stanhope entrance off Romney Road. Further facilities are located to the left of the Admissions desk in the Sammy Ofer Wing facing Greenwich Park. 

Additional facilities are located on the first floor at the rear of the Baltic Memorial Glass Exhibit.
Free admission for carers

Royal Museums Greenwich offers free admission to carers accompanying visitors with disabilities.

This includes admission to our main ticketed exhibitions and shows at the the Royal Observatory, Cutty Sark and Planetarium, plus special exhibitions. The National Maritime Museum and Queen's House offer free entry to permanent exhibitions.

Some smaller events, such as one-off evenings, talks and courses, may include a charge for carers.

Families at our cafés and restaurants

Our cafés and restaurants welcome children and families, with many offering special menus for our youngest guests. Ask staff if you need a high chair or you would like some baby milk heated up.
