Visitor notice: On Saturday 11 November, the Great Hall, Tulip Stairs and some ground floor rooms will be closed from 2pm. The rest of the House and galleries remain open including the Armada Portrait

Comissioned by James the 1st for his wife Anne of Denmark and built between 1616 and 1635 The Queen's House was the first classical building in the UK and is now the only part of Greenwich’s Royal Palace that remains today. The house has recently undergone a major restoration, including a commision by Turner Prize winning artist Richard Wright. 

The tour will explore the history of Greenwich from a Royal residence to today, as well as looking at the the artwork on show, including works by Lowry, Gainsborough and the Armada portrait of Elizabeth I.
