Snuff box made from timbers of the Black Joke (c. 1840)
HM brig Black Joke served as a naval anti-slavery patrol vessel in the 1830s. She had originally been built as a fast-sailing slave ship, the Baltimore-based Henriquetta. The lid of the box is carved with a view of the ship fully rigged.  E9105.
