Care for our Collection
Please support our appeal – we need to raise £10,000.
Support our Care for our Collection Appeal
The National Maritime Museum is the largest of its kind in the world and our collections contain over two million items relating to seafaring, navigation, astronomy and time measurement.
The National Maritime Museum also has one of the finest ship model collections in the world with around 3,200 in number. The Museum collection contains all types of models from ethnographic, Navy Board and half-block models to builder’s, design, waterline and full hull models.
The Care for our Collection appeal will ensure the conservation of our unique collection of ship models. Some of which can be seen in our permanent gallery Traders: the East India Company and Asia, which opened in autumn 2011.
