Visitor Support Volunteer

Royal Museums Greenwich is an internationally renowned Museum with people coming from all over the world to visit the site to see Nelson’s uniform, to walk up the Tulip Staircase, and to stand on the Meridian.

We are looking for volunteers to enhance the visitor welcome. Your role will be varied; one day you might be in the town centre welcoming people to Greenwich from the river boats. Another day you might be in one of the galleries helping visitors make the most of their visit. You could be in the Queen’s House telling people how Henry 8th stored his dogs over the river so their noise wouldn’t bother him, or in the Interactive Lounge in the new Sammy Ofer Wing explaining how to use the new state of the art equipment.

You need to be approachable and friendly, and willing to volunteer for one full day a week. You will be offered the Welcome Host qualification and you will gain excellent experience in customer service. You will also have access to discounts in our shops and restaurants, and be able to include the experience gained at Royal Museums Greenwich on your C.V.
