The build up of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide, prevents heat escaping into space. Some scientists predict that Earth's temperatures will rise as much as 6°C by the year 2100.
GLOBAL WARMING IS SOMETHING PEOPLE SHOULD PREVENT. LATER ON PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE REGRETING THERI DISSICIONS."I SHOULD OF DONE SOMETHING." IF THE WORLD IS GOIN TO END UP BAD. AT LEAST TRY TO PREVENT A GOOD OUTCOME.

Global warming is something most people can't be bothered with but it is very important in our lives. The reason being is that it wil affect us latr on in our lives so we should remeber it not just forget it.

People CAN help globle warming, but don't really care about it. If everyone starts helping the Earth in some way possible, even if it means riding your bike instead of driving, we can help make the Earth a better place.

global warming is very hd to talk about because evry1 thinks differently about the subject. In school we learned about it and watched movies, it's confusing but very scary to think that half our world could be flooded, more and more animals could be extinct, there could be more deadly diseases carried around by bugs and animals, and the government just doesn't want to take the time to realize what's actually happening. Even though I'm only 12, I still really care and in the future, people will pay for what we've created the world to be. Something has to be done...before it's too late~~JESSICA,12

global warming is a hard topic to discuss because many people have different points of views. But, everyone should agree that we aren't taking care of our Earth like we should.I have learned all about global warming in school and I think it's very scary. How come only because the government won't make laws about it, most people won't bother to worry about global warming? No one should have to suffer because of our mistakes, we have to do something...before it's too late.

i know many ignorant people, who say that global warming will not really effect them so why bother to recycle and try to save energy. there needs to be more education for adults on these issues.
Posted by: Lisa, http://Kent
We all seem keen to save the planet until we actually have to do something. We still want to drive ourcars, discard perfectly good electrical goods for the latest dvd or computer. we all have to do something rather than expect someone else to solve the problem. recycing paper and plastics simply is not enough.

global warming is not entiely our fault,it's been happening since the first animals breathed, but we are speeding up the process with our factorys and cars, I can't say when, because of the ice caps melting, the conveyor will shut down but when it does, there will be nothing we can do to stop the ice age that will follow.

To deal with Global Warming more people should be aware of how to help reduce it. For example the govenment should reduce the cost of solar pannals or issue every household in Britian with one.

i think that global warming is a big danger. just look at the temperature of england now. (summer '06) even back home in california it's 112 degrees farenhite. this is definitely a global warming cause and we NEED to raise awareness before our summer get to be even hotter. i know it takes years for it all to happen, but what happens when those years are up?

POVERTY AND OVER POPULATION IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING, SO LET WEALTHY COUNTRIES HELP POOR/DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO MAKE THE EARTH A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL.
Posted by: lydia jood, vryburg, south africa
Since we cannot do much about increasing energy production, it is important that we start saving enery and it can be done without getting troubled. 1) Use energy saving bulbs. I think there is a huge scope of saving energy withouy losing quality of light or brightess. 2) a huge no of us use computer. let us decide to switch off monitor when we are not using it.
although the two things mentioned above look very little things to do and requires little effort. we just need to build the habit.
there are other ways too to decrease energy demand that leads to increased global warming. you just need to ask yourself one question: can i do something about it? and you will know the answer.

global warming is very bad and people should be aware of it and do all they can to try and prevent it from getting worse.we have to accept that our actions are having an impact on the well-being of our planet, and all that inhabit it.
thank you for all your information.

global warming affects a lot in my country. the weather becomes more and more hot in summer. the tayphons visit Taiwan much more often than before. sometimes, we don't have wintertime because the temperatures just like summer.

global warming is here already and its already taking affect so in the year 2020 the countries temperature will be more like that of italy. the humidity will also be like that of other european countries this has been proven so if we dont do something now the planet will die in the future and our grandchildren and there children will die because of our stupidity. do sumthing now andstp devastation lets make history. jacob baker 16

you can't tell me if its going to rain next week ,but you can tell me that we are headed for global warming in fifty years. we are only a fraction of life on this planet . this world will be here long after humans are gone, and unless we set off every nuke on the planet ,the earth WILL continue to repair & take care of its self.

We need to do something about Global Warming now. It is not fair that future genertions should have to cope with Global Warming as a result of our actions.

Global warming is not caused purely by humans. In fact there actually is no global warming! I have read an amazing articale on the website :
www.predictweather.com
and it proves many points! Don't just believe me read it! Print it off and share it with friends. These are the real answers!

i think it will affect our childrens children and unless we act now it will be to late!
the people on the tv talk about the end of the world due to global warming but all talk and no action is useless.
if we do nothing and if you are happy with the way man kind are wrecking this planet then fine but it wont be u who suffer because of lazy and greedy people we r destroying this planet.

i think global warming is important because it will affect the future of not only our future but the environments too.
i think everyone should recycle and use cars less because if everyone thought and did the same then maybe we could make this world a better place!
dont just sit ther and talk make a differance!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every one of us needs to learn that the earth is not owned us and instead we are but caretakers for our children whom are borrowing it from them. Global warming effets maybe reduced if each of us play our part and take responsibility for it.

the planet has been both warmer and cooler before. This is a natural process which we have speeded up, the planet will continue but perhaps with out ignorant man kind - a better place hey!

It is all very well saying that it is not affecting us now but i am only 14 and in the future for me, my children and my grandchildren there will be serious prolems. It is important that we solve the problens before they get even worse.
Posted by: Katie, Watford
It will innevitabely affect everyones life but the thing is noone is actually doing anything about it. The government needs to enforce strict rules so that it is illegal to use certan things. Get ride of certain cars, ban smoking, stop certain products being sold, make 'everyones joint efforts' effective now, so that the greenhouse effect doesn't get worse.

Global warming isnt true the Earth follows a natural cycle of cold temperatures to warm temperatures, when dinosaurs were on the earth it was a global tropical climate, the Earth is returning to a similar temperature now due to the cycle and will in the future return to the existing climate.

Global warming is a very serious issue, and it's scary to think about the effects it could have on life in the future.
Posted by: Diane, Fresno, California
Climatology is a science in its infancy - the technology used to gather the information and data backing golbal warming claims is innacurate at best, and in any other field of science, would be laughed at. Anthropogenic climate change is still a theory, and we need to wait for the science to improve before we make large scale decisions about a solution.

I think that global warming is an issue that needs to be solved by the government,it affects me even living on a a small island just off peenzance, the air is still clean there, but how long until the air is dirty and poluted?
Posted by: Rhiannon Wallace, St.Marys Isles Of Scilly
I think we need to commission more scientific studies to find out for sure whether or not Global Warming will have a net positive or negative impact on our world. Vague headlines such as "scientists predict Earth's temperature MAY rise by x degrees in y years" are shocking, but don't mean anything for most people.
Posted by: Qifan Xi, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
i think that global warming is very serious and people need to do more about it to save the planet that gives them life when we get to the point of no return then they will start to panic and wish they had done something about the situation sooner!!!!!

instead of talking about it why dont the goverment do something about it why there is still time to do something about it.maybe it want happen in are lifetime but it will be are childrens children grandchildren that will pay for it something needs to be done if theres a god we need hes help big time.

Well, if the gulf stream shuts down due to the dilution of the north atlantic current near Greenland (due to the melting ice sheets there) then Britain's climte will be comparable to that of Alaska; we would freeze whilst the rest of the world heats up.

nobody is taking global warming seriously. And until somebody has something bad happen to them caused by global warming, they are unaware of the consequences. Take the hurricanes for example nothing had been happening to change global warming but now there is an uproar!
