Make it Go!

Cutty Sark was one of the fastest ships of the Victorian period due to her wonderful, sleek design. She competed in the prestigious tea races making record breaking journeys around the world and even managed to out-pace a steamship in the Indian Ocean.

Holiday to Space

The morning starts in our planetarium with our 20 minute Ted's Space Adventure show filled with spectacular views of the planets up close and a chance to sing along to help Ted and his friend Plant explore the Solar System!

Afterwards a 30 minute workshop takes place in one of our learning spaces to find out a little more about Ted’s adventure to the planets, to choose one that would make a good holiday destination and to help prepare our brave teddy bear for the trip and stay.

National pop-up project leaves the Museum and tours England

The stories collected will travel back to the Museum and feature in a digital interactive which will go on display in the new Sea Things Gallery. Emergency Exit Arts (EEA) is in residence for this exciting project. Artists from EEA form the Maritime Memory Catchers who drive the van around the country and deliver fun, creative sea-themed activities free for people from all ages and background to participate in.
