Winter Wedding Showcase

Queen's House Part Closures

Visitor Notice: On Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 December, the Great Hall of the Queen's House will be closed to the public. The rest of the house, including the iconic Armada Portrait of Elizabeth I, will be open as usual.

With a particularly busy year at Royal Museums Greenwich coming up in 2020, we wanted our second wedding showcase of the year to focus on what is usually the quieter wedding season and show our couples some winter wonders! We started working on the day back in September, coordinating a variety of suppliers offering our clients a real taste of what they can do, not only at Queen’s House but at our four other venues too.  Days like these offer us a chance to engage with our couples in a more relaxed and sociable environment, whilst enabling them to engage with a range of suppliers and see them in action!

Palette Events launched their £139 +VAT complete Winter Wedding Package at Queen’s House, serving warm winter Pimms cocktails and some yummy warm canapés. Other caterers Clerkenwell Green treated us to some delicious desserts and proved even in cold weather, a sparkling wine always goes down well!

Florist of the day Peppermint Poppy decorated our spaces, culminating in an archway centrepiece in the Great Hall perfect for the Instagram moment! Downstairs in the Undercroft, Yahire gave us a selection of their soft furnishings to turn the area into a plush cosy snug whilst Anemone Style offered our couples a complimentary wedding planning taster.

Production was arranged by SLX, with LED votives, gobos and uplighting theming the rooms. A particularly enjoyable sight was our photographer for the day, Gyan Gurung, showing couples his favourite spots in the Queen’s House for wonderful wedding pictures, whilst I Will Video spoke to couples about the art of wedding videography.

For those who were still early in the planning stages, Greenwich Registrars were on hand to answer queries. Urban Soul Orchestra provided entertainment throughout the day, proving that strings are not just for the ceremony!

Finally, for the bride still deciding on her dress, we had luxury bridal dress designer Blackburn Bridal on hand with an array of his creations, Ana Ospina teaching the art of wedding makeup and Inna Walker Headpieces offering accessories for every type of bride.

We manage each and every wedding enquiry with a bespoke approach and look forward to working with many more couples on making their special day unique and memorable in every way. If you missed this showcase and are interested in coming to the next, drop us an email or sign up to our newsletter. If you would like to have a private viewing of any of our venues, we will be happy to arrange this.
