Parking at Royal Museums Greenwich

Parking at the National Maritime Museum, the Queen’s House, the Royal Observatory, Peter Harrison Planetarium and Cutty Sark 

There is a secure public car park located at Royal Museums Greenwich offices with 90 spaces that can be used by visitors to any of our museums at weekends.

From here the walking distances are as follows:

  • The Queen’s House – 4 minutes
  • National Maritime Museum – 5 minutes
  • Cutty Sark – 8 minutes
  • Royal Observatory - 10 minutes via a steep hill or 20 minutes via a more gentle hill

Car Park Opening hours: 8am–7pm on weekends and bank holidays. The car park is not open on weekdays or on 24, 25 and 26 December.

Pay and display parking

For the Royal Observatory and Planetarium

There is pay and display parking available in Greenwich Park giving flat access to the Royal Observatory available daily 9.00am - 6.00pm - £1.20 per hour, 30p per 15 minutes, 4 hour maximum stay

Pay and display parking in Greenwich

The Royal Borough of Greenwich also operates car parks nearby in Park Row and Burney Street. Usual exemptions apply for Blue Badge holders.

Accessible parking

Limited pre-booked spaces are available for disabled visitors in the National Maritime Museum car park in Park Row. Please pre-book, otherwise we cannot guarantee a place. The Bookings office is open 9am–5pm Monday to Friday, closed at weekends.

Coach parking

A parking map for coaches can be found on the Visit Greenwich website

For the National Maritime Museum, Queen's House, Cutty Sark and the centre of Greenwich, there are set down/pick-up bays in Stockwell Street (20 minutes maximum), which is a five-minute walk from all three sites.

Coaches can also set down young or elderly parties closer to the National Maritime Museum in Romney Road (westbound only) before proceeding to a parking place. There is a long-stay coach parking bay in Norman Road.

Coach parking at Royal Observatory & Planetarium

There is free coach parking adjacent to the A2 in Blackheath at Charlton Way Coach Park, which is close to the Royal Observatory via a short walk through the Blackheath gate of Greenwich Park. There are also public toilets just inside this gate.
