Royal Museums Greenwich prides itself on creating innovative and intriguing books on our core subject areas, exploring stories about the sea, ships, time and the stars.
From gripping tales of adventure on the high seas to the most profound mysteries of the universe, from little-known histories to exquisite art, our publishing programme will inspire and delight, whatever your interest.
All profits from publishing are returned to the Museum to help fund research, exhibitions and acquisitions. All our books are sold in our museum shops, online and in all good bookshops.
From books for general readers, academics, students and families, there are numerous opportunities for publishing partnerships.
How do we work?
Our publishing department works in a variety of ways:
We work collaboratively with publishers, using our content and the expertise of our world-leading curators, astronomers and specialists. Our publishing partners benefit from:
- Creative and expert support, identifying engaging and authentic stories for new books, along with access to our extensive archive and Picture Library.
- Promotional and social media support.
- Opportunity for endorsement using our world-renowned museum branding.
Royal Museums Greenwich imprints
We publish around 15 books per year under our own imprints, which are distributed by Unicorn Publishing Group.
We also offer curatorial consultancy for projects which require specialist expertise. Please contact us for a list of curatorial specialisms.
