Creative Challenges

Are you a grassroots organisation, youth group or supplementary school interested in collaborating on inspiring events for a youth audience?

Our Creative challenges are designed to allow members of the community to respond to some of the themes in our collection.

Our creative challenges take place throughout the year and will typically work in three parts:

  1. A facilitated inspiration day for young people to explore the designated topic and learn about their brief (i.e. their creative challenge).
  2. A fixed time period for young people to develop their creative work.
  3. The young people return to the museum to present their work in the form of a takeover.

These projects will be targeted at particular groups of interest or identity. These projects enable the museum to harness young people’s ideas and opinions in response to particular topics such as Women’s History Month or Black History Month. They are designed to allow a wider community to take ownership of some of the collections in the Museum.
