Continuing our season of star-themed events, the seventh Star Trek film in the franchise introduces a villain intent on obliterating stars and therefore the systems of planets they host.

All this is in an effort to enter a strange cosmic phenomenon that makes ones dreams a reality. This is the inaugral feature film for the Next Generation crew and goes down as milestone in Trek history where two great captains meet. The screening will be followed by a light-hearted short talk on the science fact behind the fiction by Royal Observatory astronomer Dr. Ed Bloomer with topics including gravity, cores of stars and what an impact from a Galaxy-class starship might do to Earth!

Certificate: PG

Please note this screening was originally scheduled to take place 6:30-8:15pm
