There were many ways to commemorate Vice-Admiral Nelson. Some cheap and mass produced, others encrusted with diamonds.

It was common for people to wear jewellery with a patriotic theme. A wide variety of items were produced for men and women following the death of Nelson. Wearers could show their support for the national hero as they went about their everyday lives.

This brown agate cameo is contained within a gold alloy pendant setting, which is set with brilliants. The cameo is decorated with a profile portrait depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson.
