Women's History Month 2019

Pacific Encounter Gallery closure

Pacific Encounters Gallery at the National Maritime Museum will be closed to visitors until 11am on Friday 25 October.

This March, join us to celebrate the women who made history.

Women played important roles in Greenwich's past; from Catharine Dowman, the suffragette who saved Cutty Sark, and the female 'computers' at the Royal Observatory, to Emma Hamilton, Nelson's influential mistress, and one of the most iconic images of female leadership, Elizabeth I, who was born at the site of the Queen's House.
