The Queen’s House

Greenwich Comedy festival

Between 21 - 29 September there will be no access in front of the Queen's House Art Gallery, the South Lawns or the colonnades due to Greenwich Comedy Festival. The National Maritime Museum car park will also be closed. All our sites will be open as normal.

The first consciously classical building in Britain, the Queen’s House remains one of the greatest examples of classical elegance and simplicity and makes a perfect setting for period productions and photo shoots.

Features of particular interest include the graceful Tulip Stairs, the first centrally-unsupported spiral staircase in England, and the Great Hall – a perfect geometric cube with a finely-laid marble floor.

With superb, unspoilt views of Greenwich Park, the Thames and the Old Royal Naval College, the Queen’s House is the ideal choice for those wishing to add a little majesty to a production.
