Plan your visit
How to book
We recommend booking tickets to the Royal Observatory online in advance to guarantee entry. Tickets on the day are subject to availability.
Use the booking calendar to select your visit date and entry time, then select the number of tickets you require and click 'Add to basket'. Your tickets will be sent to you by email once you've completed your booking.
Members enjoy free unlimited entry to the Observatory and all other Royal Museums Greenwich sites, and do not need to book.
Eat and drink
You can pick up refreshments from stalls just outside the main entrance to the Observatory, or head towards the Parkside Café just down the hill at the National Maritime Museum.
Shop
Find the perfect museum gift, from books and prints to models, toys and games. Visit us next to the Meridian Courtyard, in the Astronomy Centre, or shop online.
Ticket discounts
We offer a number of discounts at the Royal Observatory.
- £10 Tuesdays: Visit the Royal Observatory for just £10 on Tuesdays in June 2026.
- Students are entitled to discounted tickets. Book student tickets here.
- Discounts are also available with an Art Pass, Museums Association membership and English Heritage membership.
- £3 tickets are available to visitors receiving Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Pension Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance. Learn more and book here.
- Free tickets are available for carers - a person accompanying a disabled visitor. Book this ticket here.

Peter Harrison Planetarium - currently closed
Please note that the Peter Harrison Planetarium is now closed for an exciting renovation project at the Royal Observatory.
