Silver Screen Science-Fiction Presents... Lilo & Stitch

'Ohana' means 'family'. 'Family' means 'no one gets left behind'.

Things are looking bleak for Nani Pelekai (Tia Carrere, Wayne's World) and her younger sister Lilo (Daveigh Chase, Spirited Away) - orphaned at a young age, struggling to get by, and now a social worker is threatening to take Lilo into foster care. But when the pair adopt a pet dog Stitch, who is actually a genetically altered creature from another planet, their world is about to be turned upside-down - not least because someone wants Stitch back...

Join the astronomers of the Royal Observatory Greenwich as they show one of their favourite science-fiction movies in the unique venue of the Peter Harrison Planetarium. Come before the film for a series of science demos and the chance to ask our astronomers all of your questions about space and astronomy.

Important information

Doors, the café and the science demos will open at 5.45pm.

The film will begin at 6:30pm with an expected end time of 8:15pm. Latecomers will be allowed admission into the film.

This film is rated U.

As this event will take place partly outside of Greenwich Park's opening hours, access to the site will be restricted. If you arrive before the park closes at 8pm then you can access the Observatory as normal. If arriving after this time, the park will only be accessible via St Mary's Gate in the northwestern corner of the park.

At the end of the event, exiting the Park, whether on foot or by car, will only be possible via St Mary's Gate at the northwestern end of the Park. As pedestrian access through the park is not permitted after closing time, pedestrians will be ferried to the gate via a minibus.

Please be aware that the minibus is not wheelchair accessible. If you have any concerns or need to make alternate arrangements, please contact Bookings at bookings@rmg.co.uk or call our Bookings team on 0208 312 6608.

Detailed access instructions will be attached with your ticket and are downloadable below. Please familiarise yourself with these instructions before travelling to the site.

Can children attend?

The film is rated U and is suitable for all audiences. Please be aware that all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and their attendance is at their adult's discretion.

When should I arrive?

The film will begin at 6:30pm, but the cafe will be open from 5.45pm. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the film begins or sooner if you wish to attend the science demos before the film.

Getting here

I'm planning to drive to this event. Where do I park?

As the Park closes at 8pm, if you arrive before the event has begun, you can access the Park as normal. Once inside the Park, parking is available in front of the Observatory.

If arriving after the film has begun, access will only be possible from St Mary's Gate in the northwestern corner of the Park. Similarly, when the event ends, leaving the Park by car can only be completed via St Mary's Gate. See the access instructions above or attached to your ticket for more details.

I'm planning to walk/take public transport to this event. How do I get in after the Park has closed?

If arriving before the event has begun, the Park will be open as normal. As the Park closes at 8pm, access after this time will only be possible via St Mary's Gate at the northwestern corner of the Park.

A minibus will be operating that will take you from the gate to the Observatory. At the end of the evening, leaving the Park can only occur via St Mary's Gate and the minibus will again ferry you from the Observatory to the gate.

Please be aware that this minibus is not wheelchair accessible. If you have any concerns or need to make alternate arrangements, please contact Bookings at bookings@rmg.co.uk or call 0208 312 6608.

Walking through the Park after it has closed is not permitted. See the access instructions above or attached to your ticket for more details.

What happens if I am running late?

Access to the event will still be possible after the film has begun, however be aware that given the Park shuts at 8pm, access after this time will only be possible via St Mary's Gate in the northwestern corner of the Park. See the access instructions above or attached to your ticket for more details.

Are companion/carer tickets available?

Companions to disabled visitors are entitled to free admission. These tickets can be selected online when booking any paid ticket.

Please be aware that wheelchair spaces in the Planetarium are limited. The minibus taking visitors from Greenwich Park gates to the Planetarium is also not wheelchair accessible. If you have any concerns or need to make alternate arrangements, please contact Bookings at bookings@rmg.co.uk or call 0208 312 6608.
