Infanta Maria Teresa (1890); Warship; First class cruiser

Scale: 1:48. Full hull model of the Infanta Maria Teresa (1890), a Spanish first class cruiser. The model is decked, equipped, and rigged. The hull is painted a flesh pink below the waterline with black topsides above. The overall hull is designed with a ram bow, twin screws, and two masts. The deck, superstructures, and funnels are finished a cream colour. On deck there are 10 boats of various types, eight of which are rigged on davits while the remaining two are stored on chocks on top of beams situated between the aft funnel and mizzen mast. There are a number of fittings which have been silver plated such as the davits, anchor chain, gun barrels, stanchions, and navigation equipment on the bridge. Two plaques are inscribed "Infanta Maria Teresa 1st class cruiser. Dimensions Length 340'-0" Breath MLD 65'-0" Depth MLD 38'-0" Displacement 6, 890 tons Indicated H.P 13, 722 Armament 2.28-cm B.L.R guns 10.14-cm B.L.R guns 8.57-mm Q.F. guns 8.37-mm Q.F. guns 8 machine guns 8 torpedo tubes Designed by Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company Limited, Jarrow-on-Tyne Built by L A Sociedad Anonymade Los Astilleros Del Nervion at Bilbao 1893". The model is mounted on two wooden turned pillars on a satinwood base within a rosewood glazed display case.
