The NASEBY sets sail from the Hope and Barlow receives a head injury when struck by a bar.
The ship takes in provisions in the Hope. Barlow is at the capstan when the ship weighs anchor, and receives a bad head injury when he is hit by a bar. It takes a year for this wound to fully heal.
