Barlow rejoins his ship, which looks for Dutch ships and captures one which may be Dutch. They hear news of the blowing up of the LONDON.

Barlow rejoins the MONKE, finding his belongings intact. They are ordered to cruise in the Channel and look for Dutch ships, and eventually they encounter a small ship which they believe to be Dutch and take into Falmouth in captivity. They are ordered to the Downs, but on the way bad weather damages their sails. Near Dover they hear news of the blowing up of the LONDON.
