After visiting the well at Buxton, Barlow joins the EXPERIMENT, bound for Surat. Their first stop for provisions is Santiago Island.

Barlow visits Buxton and bathes in the well there. He joins a new ship at Blackwall (the EXPERIMENT), bound for Surat in East India. The ship sails on 7 March 1670, with the HANNIBAL and the LOYAL SUBJECT. Their first stop is Santiago Island, and Barlow describes the local produce.
