A view of the port side of the hull, taken from dead ahead, of the hulk of the steamship Great Britain (1843) beached in Sparrow Cove, Falkland Islands. The photographer is in a boat close ahead of the ship showing the broken bowsprit, the bottom part of the scrollwork that supported the figurehead, the bobstay chain hanging down and the foremast. The starboard side of the hull is not in the picture. The ship has a very slight list to port. A vertical format negative.
