HMS 'Warrior' 1860

A woolwork embroidery of HMS 'Warrior' in brightly coloured wools. The ship, in a central circle, wears a Red Ensign and is flanked by the White Ensign and the national flags of Great Britain, the Netherlands and the United States. There is a spray of flowers above and the motto 'TRIA . JUNCTA . IN . UNO.' below.

HMS 'Warrior' was built by Ditchburn & Mare, Blackwall and launched in 1860. She and her sister ship 'Black Prince' were ship-rigged ironclads and were the world's first ocean-going armoured ships. 'Warrior' became a deport ship in 1904. She has since been restored and is now docked at Portsmouth.
