Watch our series of videos, produced in collaboration with The Park College, a specialist college that provides training programmes for young people with autism and learning difficulties, to help you navigate the social situations you will experience during your visit to Royal Museums Greenwich.

The three films depict a journey, from getting to the Museum to dealing with situations that arise there.

Getting to the museum

The video covers the following topics:

  • Arriving near the Museum by bus or DLR and finding your way there (following signs, asking for directions)
  • Safety on route (road safety, personal space)
  • Arriving at the Museum (hygiene, interacting with staff)

Meeting at the Museum

The video covers the following scenarios:

  • Meeting a friend in the café but they have not arrived (phone conversation and etiquette)
  • Buying food and drink in the café (personal space, social interaction, monetary transactions)
  • Chatting with your friend(s) (social interaction)

Exploring the Museum

The video covers the following topics:

  • Finding a particular gallery (following directions, asking the right people for help)
  • Exploring the gallery (understanding our spaces)
  • Finding out more about an object (asking for more information, where and who to ask)

Please note, you don't need to be quiet in our galleries, some spaces are just quieter than others!
