In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Captain Littlejohn, Commander of the BONADVENTURE, has advised us from the Downes that since coming in there they perceive her rudder is fetching a great deal of way and a survey by the Carpenter has judged it not fit for service. The ship having been lately fitted out at Plymouth for a voyage to the West Indies, you are directed to make enquiry as to how this has happened and to give us an account of how you propose her repaired.
