The ship lands on the uninhabited island of Fernando de Noronha. Soon after, the Admiral ship springs a serious leak. They receive news of peace made between Holland and England. A number of men in the fleet die of a dropsical disease caused by bad food and water, and Barlow comments that the food on English ships is better.
