In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
A convoy is to sail for the Canaries and the Admiralty wishes to know whether the defects found during a survey of the KENT undertaken by Commissioner Tymewell can be completed before the convoy sails. A copy of the survey is enclosed. John Turner, previously recommended by the Navy Board as Boatswain of the CHATHAM Hulk has refused to serve as Boatswain of the JOSIAH. A substitute is to be found.
