A port bow view of the lug rigged dinghy Isabel Adams (Fl. 1890) at the water's edge on the beach at Walmer, Kent. A lantern is fitted on a halyard attached to the unstayed mast and the four Adams family children, Francis Norris, Isabel Mary, Gordon and Pauline are in the boat. A man on the beach is about to push the boat into the water and Francis is ready at the oars. Gordon is in the bow and the two girls are in the stern with Isabel to starboard and Pauline to port. The top of the boat's mast is out of the picture. The Adams family referred to this boat as "the lifeboat".
