The Hastings lugger Swan, regd RX204,is seen bow-on from the ground, beached in Hastings harbour and facing the town. A ladder rests against the port topsides and nets hang over the gunwale. A trawl board hangs over the port gunwale. The boat's bowsprit rests on the port side of the stemhead. Below the waterline where the stem meets the shingle beach, the keel appears twice as thick as the stem.
