Model lifebelt

A model lifebelt from the 'Strathaird' These items were traditionally made by Asian crew members and sold to passengers. The proceeds went to charity. The lifebuoy is painted red and white with an attached cord. The white areas are painted with the red ensign and national flag of Australia. The red areas show the badge of P & O flanked by two of the company houseflags 'P & O' below, and 'STRAITHAIRD'.
