Inscription on edge: '311179 H.WARNE. S.P.O. R.N.' Fitted with a bar and orange watered silk ribbon edged with blue, black and white stripes.

Harry Bufton Warne (1884-1952) Leading Stoker and Stoker Petty Officer in the Royal Navy. Harry Warne served throughout World War I in the battlecruiser HMS 'Princess Royal' 1911 and would have been present at the Battle of Heligoland Bight, the Battle of Jutland and the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight. He married Annie M. Maguire in 1923 and after leaving the Navy was employed as a night watchman in Poplar near his birthplace in Limehouse.
