Admiralty Compass Observatory, 1842-1971
Admiralty Magnetic Compass Museum catalogue and notes compiled by Lieutenant George Hamilton Alexander, MBE, RN (1869-1938). Alexander was Chief Compass Examiner in the Compass Department from 1907 to 1930. Additions to the catalogue were made by Commander William Edward May (1899-1989) as Naval Assistant from 1928 to 1951.
