The ironclad battleship HMS INVINCIBLE (1869), Captain Claude E. Buckle, on the Mediterranean and China stations, between 30 September 1884 and 14 December 1885; the central battery ironclad HMS BELLEROPHON (1865), Captain Charles C.P. Fitzgerald, flagship on the North America and West Indies station, between 7 January 1886 and 25 July 1886; the corvette HMS COMUS (1878), Captain Thomas S. Jackson, on the North America and West Indies station, between 27 July 1886 and 17 December 1886; then again the BELLEROPHON, Captain Bouverie F. Clarke, between 19 December 1886 and 3 February 1888.

The volume includes watercolours, technical drawings and track charts.
