Figurehead
Part of the figurehead of mission vessel 'John Williams I' representing an arm with the hand holding part of an open bible. The text originally read: 'Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.' The carving represented the missionary John Williams (1769-1839) after whom the ship was named. It has the remains of gold paint. Formerly in the collections of the London Missionary Society.
