A starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Ningpo trader type junk 0138 under sail at Shanghai. She is a three masted vessel with lug sails set at each mast. She has occuli at the bow, an awning rigged abaft the mainmast and her port number is painted three times on her hull. Her boat is on a painter astern. The photographer's ship was in Northern Chinese waters in the periods 3 June to 10 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938.
