Patch box

Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid. The surface is enamelled, base white, sides white with blue leaf stripe decoration, interspersed with red flowers. The lid has a blue zigzag border with white spots. Painted in the centre is a one-legged sailor, glass in one hand, pointing out to sea with the other. There is a barrel to the right, with a bottle on top. Above the sailor is the inscription 'The Friend of Humanity'.
