The ocean can change colour from a turquoise blue to a dark grey and has been inspiring artists for hundreds of years.

Follow these simple steps to make your own sensory sea, perfect for under 5s and other sensory learners.

You will need:

plastic sandwich bag, scissors, tape, blue and green paint

Sandwich bag

Tape

Blue and green paint

Scissors

Step 1

Open up the sandwich bag and squirt in several lines of blue paint.

Step 2

Add alternating lines of paint in another colour such as green or white.

Step 3

Seal the top of the sandwich bag and tape the top of the bag closed.

Step 4

Tape the bag to the table and press on it gently to start to mix the colours.
