In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your Secretary Mr Burchett has a memorial concerning the Marine Regiments. I have lately received an order for a considerable sum for the regiment, but until your Board has considered the memorial and signified their pleasure, I cannot pay the officers. The memorial of Major Stopford and Major Weberly of the two Marine Regiments - showing that money due to the regiment for the men upon the rolls has not been paid for want of your Lordships further order to the Commissioners of the Navy that the rolls are sufficient to issue the money. That the money due for quartering the men is yet unpaid and that the agents for the regiments are incapable of settling the accounts without your Lordships further orders to the Navy Board. Signed Mr Harmage; Joseph Stopford, Agent for the Marine Regiments and Major, Marine Regiment.
