Unboxing the Universe is a multi-sensory live science show that turns big space questions into exciting moments of discovery and wonder.
Packed with awesome live demos from Royal Observatory Astronomers, weird and wonderful smells, and hands-on audience participation, Unboxing the Universe is bursting with answers to your biggest space questions, like:
- What is a black hole?
- What does our Solar System smell like?
- Is it possible to beat the speed of light?
- What does it take to launch a rocket into space?
This exciting science theatre show will spark a sense of wonder in kids and adults alike. It’s the perfect experience for anyone who has ever looked up into the night sky and wondered what’s out there.

How do I book tickets for Unboxing the Universe?
What age is the Unboxing the Universe show for?
Unboxing the Universe is for 7+. Older or younger siblings of any age will be admitted but parents and carers should understand that the show has not been designed for their age range.
All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
How do I get to the National Maritime Museum?
Unboxing the Universe takes place in the Lecture Theatre within the National Maritime Museum.
The Museum is a short walk from the centre of Greenwich, with regular DLR, rail, bus and river boat services available.
