In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Copy of a letter from Edward Hoare at Cork in which he informs that he will do his best to assemble the victuals required for the 5000 men referred to in Item 33 except that he is having difficulties in finding sufficient bread and beer. He has farmed out as much work as possible to suppliers inland but complains that hops and wheat are currently very dear. On the reverse he gives the costs for supplying each specie and concludes by stating that a sum of three thousand pounds will have to be sent from Dublin in order to meet the total.
