Letter sent with a gift of three red lacquer cups, in appreciation of Noel’s contribution to the fund for the relief of families of soldiers and sailors engaged in the late war in the Far East (the Russo-Japanese War), by the Charge d’Affaires at the Japanese Embassy in London, dated 25 August 1908 (with envelope). A draft for Noel’s reply is on the reverse.
